老花眼症狀會延遲出現，這對近視者而言是不是一項福音？也許有人這麼想，但我要大聲疾呼：這根本是大錯特錯的想法！

年紀輕輕就罹患深度近視，長期來看，其眼底變質狀況會因近視而日益惡化，於是視網膜剝離的機率提高，也可能罹患白內障或青光眼，甚至是黃斑部病變。於是變得看不見手邊的東西，也看不到遠方的事物，苦上加苦！

因此近視者應從年輕時就設法減輕近視度數，還要治療「表面毫無症狀，其實日益惡化」的老花眼。
